The game starts with betting the Ante. As a result, the player plays along and is shown three cards. The banker also receives three cards, but these are on the table in reverse. From these cards, the player must be able to make a poker hand (with ‘High Card’ as the lowest hand).
If the player thinks that his or her three cards on display are better than the banker's cards (which are not on display), he or she can play. This doubles the bet, because the player has the same bet on the Ante and the Play spot. If the player has no confidence in his cards, he can ‘fold’. In this case, the player loses the Ante, but limits the losses.
The bank also has the’ choice ' to fold or continue playing. With a high card of Q or higher, the bank always plays. In this case, the player wins both with the ante and his bet. If the banker does not play, he only wins the ante. At the moment when both the banker and the player are playing, the hands are compared according to the following table.
For the highest hands there is a so-called’ante bonus'. The player always gets a higher payout on the ante and it does not matter which hand the dealer has.
Three Card Poker is a variation on the classic version of poker. Below we explain step by step how this variant works.
Combination | Payout on winnings and 'ante bonus' |
---|---|
Straight Flush | 5:1 |
Three of a Kind | 4:1 |
Straight | 1:1 |
Flush | 1:1 |
Pair | 1:1 |
High Card | 1:1 |
The moment the dealer and player have the same hand, the highest card determines who wins in the end.
Example 1:
The player bets $ 1 on the ante. Now he or she gets the following cards:
♥2 ♣2 ♥3
So the player has a pair of 2s and decides to continue playing. Now he bets $ 1 on the’play'. The total bet is now $ 2.
The dealer has the following cards:
♦10 ♠6 ♣5
Because the dealer needs at least a Q to continue playing, the dealer folds. Now the player wins with the ante. He gets back $ 2 for the ante and the stake for the play; $ 3 in total.
Example 2:
With the same bet of $ 1, the player gets the following cards:
♥K ♥6 ♥J
The player decides to continue playing with the Flush and thus bets $ 1 again. Total bet is now $ 2. The dealer has the following cards:
♦Q ♦6 ♣5
Because there is now a hand with which the dealer continues to play, but the player has a better hand, the player now wins on both the ante and the play. He now gets $ 4 in total.
Three Card Poker by Evolution Gaming has two side bets: Pair Plus and 6 Card Bonus. These are separate bets that are separate from the’ ante ‘and’ play ' or the course of the game. The Pair Plus side bet refers to the own hand of three cards. The player also wins if he folds after seeing the cards (although this is rare; the hands with which you win in the Pair Plus are also good hands in the regular game). For the 6 Card Bonus, the player makes a poker hand from the cards of himself and the dealer. Again, the course of the game does not matter. The RTP of the Pair Plus side bet is 95.51% and for 6 Card Bonus 91.44%.
Below are the overviews of the payouts at Pair Plus and 6 Card Bonus.
