Betting on " outside bets’

Among other things, you can bet on half or a third of the board. The large areas for this are on the outside of the board and are therefore also called ‘outside bets’. By placing chips on these surfaces, you can bet on all black or red numbers, on all even (pair) or odd (impair) numbers, or on all low (manque, 1 to 18) or high (passe, 19 to 36) numbers. In each of these cases, your chance of winning is almost 50%! Then you can also bet on the three columns that extend over the length of the board, or on the three dozens of numbers (D = 1 to 12, M = 13 to 24, P = 25 to 36). With all these outside bets, your chances of winning are high, but your winnings are small.

The neighbors game of the dollarpese and French roulette table

At a French roulette table and some versions of American roulette is there another special plane, which looks like a kind of oval race track. This plane is intended for the bets of the neighbor game, and sometimes you also come across it online. So let's discuss these special bets for a moment.

The neighbor game involves betting on numbers that are next to each other on the roulette wheel. Therefore, you are actually betting on a combination of split bets and straight bets. Your payout is therefore high, but you should not place several of those bets at the same time. With live roulette at a roulette table, you can easily see if the ball will end in your series of numbers, which makes the neighbor game quite exciting!

  • In the zero game ('jeu zero') you bet on 7 of the numbers that are close to zero. You have a 19% chance of winning.
  • The 5/8 series is a combination of 6 split bets that are opposite the 0, where you have a 32% chance of winning.
  • The orphelins are two planes of 5 and 3 adjacent numbers that lie in between the other bets. Your chance of winning is 22%.
